New features include edge AI, auto-tracking, low-light performance, and enhanced cybersecurity-Panasonic
Dubai, United Arab Emirates:
iPro, the global leader in professional security surveillance solutions, in collaboration with Panasonic, which distributes its products in the Middle East and Africa, announced the addition of artificial intelligence features to its PTZ cameras (pan, tilt, zoom) with the full update of the series of cameras within this category with the addition of 35 new cameras.
The company introduced the new PTZ series cameras during an official event hosted in Dubai on June 29, 2020 in the presence of 90 agents, contractors and representatives of system integrators.
iPro added the first AI-enhanced PTZ cameras to the S-Series in line with its mission to deploy AI solutions across the security sector, as the new cameras are equipped with a built-in and highly efficient AI processor that enables advanced automatic tracking and greatly facilitates the task of security service providers. Equipped with the highest levels of cybersecurity, these cameras can run two AI-based deep learning applications at the edges of the network, reducing burdens and reducing server infrastructure costs. The SDK can also be used to integrate specialized applications produced by other companies, thanks to iPro’s open-platform AI strategy.
iPro added PTZ cameras for the first time to the U-Series series, the most effective and cost-efficient in its portfolio, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to meeting market demands and being quick and flexible in responding to its needs.
Hidetoshi Kaneko, Director and Head of Systems Solutions & Communications at Panasonic Middle East & Africa Marketing, said: “At iPro, we are committed to providing innovative solutions that deliver wide-ranging applications covering optical security device management and beyond. AI applications, such as auto-tracking and deep learning, have features that support making the right decisions in fast-changing environments. The compatibility of the cameras with video management software produced by other companies gives our customers peace of mind and flexibility to perform all tasks.”
S-Series PTZ cameras: smarter, faster and safer in cyberspace
Designed to make the lives of security providers easier, the new S-Series PTZ cameras deliver high-quality images, especially in low-light conditions, with state-of-the-art lenses and image sensors to improve their accuracy and avoid false alarms. The powerful Ambarella AI processor supports advanced auto-tracking tasks, helping security providers with automatic detection, image zooming, people, vehicles and bicycles, as well as tracking the distinctive characteristics of observed objects, such as color and type. Security providers will note the responsiveness of PTZ cameras during predefined operations, as well as improvements in autofocus features in manual operations, ensuring they are able to obtain high-resolution images permanently.
Available with 2MP or 5MP resolution and 21-40X zoom rates, the S-Series PTZ cameras come in a wide range of options, such as smoke dome, salt resistant and black models. Rated IP66/IP67 for dust and water protection and IK10 for impact resistance, the series has been developed to withstand all conditions of the external environment and operate efficiently under all temperatures.
U-Series PTZ Cameras: Cost Efficiency and Cybersecurity Superiority
The new U-Series PTZ is the smallest class of S-Series cameras, designed for projects that do not require AI features while needing the core features offered by iPro in terms of quality, reliability and cybersecurity. The series provides the company’s customers with cost-effective, easy-to-install and safe PTZ cameras in cyberspace, with high image quality even in low-light conditions. This series is available in 2MP with zoom rates ranging from x3.1-x21 in indoor and outdoor environments. The new U-Series PTZ models for outdoor environments meet IP66 and IK10 impact resistance ratings.
Quality, Design and Cybersecurity Advantages
The PTZ cameras in both series feature the new modern design and compact form factor of many Dome cameras, with ergonomic size and superior low-light performance allowing them to be mounted in almost any position with high-quality images and accurate object detection to reduce false alarms. Both series have achieved the highest levels of cybersecurity, ensuring peace of mind for their users by obtaining the Federal Standard for Information Processing Level III (FIPS 140-2) certification.
Gerard Fegols, President of iPro EMEA, said: “iPro today took an important step towards becoming a next-generation partner for the security sector, making it easier for security providers to operate by introducing the first PTZ camera on the market with an open AI platform, peripherals and the highest levels of cybersecurity. At the same time, we are deploying these innovative features in the cost-effective U-Series camera series to give the market access to this powerful equipment, especially as the wider sector suffers from product availability and high price issues.”
